Thursday 16.04.2026 | 20:00
Einstein Kultur, Einsteinstraße 42, 81675 Munich
As part of Jazzclub Unterfahrt’s Unheard series, we present a singer who has already created quite a few “wow” moments in her native Sweden and far beyond: Irma Neumüller. With charm, a warm timbre, impressive vocal versatility, an unfailing sense of swing, a keen ear for ornamentation, and just the right touch of improvisational freedom, she performs songs in Swedish and English, always staying close to the great tradition of jazz vocals.
Irma Neumüller began playing the cello at the age of four—an instrument whose sound is famously close to the human voice. It may well have been this early connection that led her to discover jazz singing at sixteen. She laid the foundation for her musical path at her local high school and adult education center before going on to study at the Jazz Institute Berlin. Now the award-winning vocalist joins us, performing, among other works, selections from her remarkable debut album, Introducing Irma Neumüller.
The Unheard series celebrated great success at Jazzclub Unterfahrt in 2019 and 2021 and now continues this year with eight concerts in Hall 4 at Einstein Kultur. Developed as a project in collaboration with JazzStiftung München and curated by Unterfahrt and mucjazz e.V., the program is dedicated to providing a platform for young, promising musicians emerging from various competitions (including the Munich Jazz Prize), giving them the recognition they have long deserved.
Lineup:
Irma Neumüller, vocals
David Weissglas, piano
Lena Lorberg, double bass
Lenny Rehm, drums
